    And The Beat Goes On...

    Wednesday
    January 25, 2006
    Dillon's
    Paris, TX

Well, we showed up and Kenny tells us that his boss got into some IRS trouble and that he was unable to even cash his paycheck at the bank, talk about shit news... Also said something about being out of beer for the time being (shit news again) but that he was sending someone to at least remedy that problem, and that "if we were going out, then we were going out with a bang!"

    I like Kenny's style.

Thanks to Wesley Joe and Lindsey for dumming with us tonight.

And thanks to all for comming out.
I am sorry for the lack of pictures.

    Dive! Dive! Dive, I say!

    Saturday
    January 21, 2006
    6th Street Grill
    Ft. Worth, Texas

We arrived to find out that we had no doorman and we were supposed to provide our own.

I think that the nice lady O'Neal is talking to actually ended up working the door for us. As you can see, we really needed someone fast and in a bad way!

Eric and I had to school everyone on the table before they would let us play...

Some of the "tips" I used to get written on napkins and dropped in the jar when I tended bar:
    1. Don't eat yellow snow, bitch.
    2. Don't stare at the sun.
    3. Look both ways before crossing the street.
    4. Money's tight, times are hard, so here's your fucking tip, retard.

    I've heard all that shit.
I guess that's why after doing it for eight years it was time for a change.

Maybe if I sagged my pants, wore my hat sideways, had three different “baby mommas”, and butchered the English language by flowing some mad rhymes and dropping some phat beats, then I could actually pack the jizzoint out.

    Fo’ shizzle…

Being involved in music, it often becomes a harsh reality, extremely disheartening, and sad to realize that if I were some wigger like “K-Fed” that I would be spending more money in a month than I will make in a lifetime doing what I do now; and oh yea, on top of that, I’d be boning Britney Spears too.

    Sad indeed.

I like to call this picture, "Fuster Cluck."

    ...and this one, "Tuner."

Suddenly I feel a strong urge to go order a Coors Original.

One Of The Top 5 Dillon's Shows...

    Friday the 13th
    January, 2006
    Dillon's
    Paris, TX

Well, just like the headline says, this was one of the best times we've had, and also one of the best show's we've had here in our little hometown joint. Thanks to Miles From Nowhere for double-teaming the folks with us once again, and thanks to Kenny, Sam, Craig, and the rest of the usual suspects that make our gigs at Dillon's run like I Can't Believe It's Not Butter.

It was one of those rare nights when, as a player, you really felt connected to the crowd. It's real easy to get involved and have a good time when the folks are right in your face, pumping fists, and holler’n. That stuff’s the best. This night was one of those times where the band and the crowd just seemed to come together just right and there wasn’t a feeling of division in the room. No gap between the two, or what I always call, “negative space.” Everyone in the joint was part of the same well-oiled machine, bouncing to the same rhythm, and sucking up the fun, channeled right there in front of me, right out of the thin air.

The Fellas in an extremely smoke-filled room.

Ladies and gentlemen: the ghost of Adam Walker.

Folks starting to show around 10ish. Hell, I guess it would be ideal to play every gig from about 11:30-1:30am at Dillon's; that seems to be prime time.

Mr. Anderson makes his way into my narcissistic, gratuitous, self-absorbed pic for the week.

    My Cameo...

This guy had some really good ink, especially the dreamcatcher that covered his entire back.

    Hank's Dallaslive.net Recording

    Saturday
    January 07, 2006
    Hank's
    McKinney, Texas

Well, it was a pretty good turn out for Hank’s again, and the folks from dallaslive.net made it out to do a live recording of the show for their internet radio station.

If a picture is worth a thousand words then I guess I’ll just post some and save myself some time typing…

    Sound check 2.

This was the first time I have seen Wayne with a shaved face in my 6 months of knowing him.

    Tune up.
