    Hank's

    Friday
    June 30, 2006
    Hank's Grill
    McKinney, Texas

Our friends Miles From Nowhere rolled down with us for this show, and they killed. The folks at Hank's had recently picked up some new speakers, and the sound was fantastic. When the show was over, our crew folded out early and the MFN boys stuck around for what I ended up hearing about being a pretty wild night! I always miss all the good stuff...

Well, usually after every show we all get together and decide who gets “the award” for the evening – who’s kept it together the most, played the best, the most sober, etc… And this time the award definitely has to go to Eric Brunson – auctioneer extreme.

He stayed sober by no means, but after we were done with dinner and both sets, we ran into someone wanting to tip the band $20 for just one more song. Well, $140 later we finally called the encore quits. Eric had auctioned off various songs to the highest bidder, calling us, "musical whores", I belive it was. Why yes, whores indeed... A born salesman this Brunson character… a real professional hustler.

Next time your dining here, might I reccomend:

    Dillion's
    Paris, Texas

It’s always great playing Dillon’s. The hometown crowd was awesome and the room busting at the seams – always my favorite place to play.

A BIG “thanks” and “welcome back” to my friends, Kenny and Johnny Walker…

Well, At Least The Mavs Are Beating Us.

    Thursday
    June 15, 2006
    Adair's Saloon
    Dallas, Texas

Well, chalk another one up in the win column for the Mavs against us in Dallas.

    That’s 2-0, Mavs over The M.O.B.

These NBA Finals games are punishing our hopes of having some locals out to hear us make the noise for the last two times we’ve been here.

So there we are, throwing it ‘round the horn and knocking the dust off of some of the old tunes that we haven’t heard/played in about 3 months when we decide to hold a meeting of the minds and discuss packing it in and heading home early.

We all agree that there’s nothing to talk about really, load the van, and hit the road.

    Maybe next time, Joel.

    Go Mavs…
