Wearing It Out

We've played Dillon's more in the last three weeks than we have in three months...

My father, from Baton Rouge, was in town to visit all week and my step-mother drove all the way down from Ohio where she'd been on business to see Hillary and I, so both of them were able to make it out to see me beat the machine for the first time. I've played the bass off and on for the last 19 years, and this was the 1st time that they'd seen me doing what I love to do, so it was a cool moment for me.

I'm sure that it will be a better feeling to have them out when I'm playing Smirnoff Music Center for about 20,000 more people.

I also got to catch up with some old friends who were in. Donna and Lana came in from the metroplex, and my buddy Corey came all the way from Bangkok, Thailand to spend a week back in Paris with family and friends. It was great catching up w/them. Hell, the last time I saw Corey (read all about it in "Jason Boland Show" post - June 16, 2005) I ended up in the emergency room the next day. I'm glad that he took it easy on me this time around.
